THE ROLE
The Culture PR’s role is to shape and amplify Wray & Nephew’s brand stories across the ever-evolving media landscape - crafting and delivering non-traditional PR pitches and assets to consumer lifestyle and music media, and social publishers.
You will be responsible for generating earned media coverage for Wray & Nephew’s compelling work in culture and ensure it is celebrated by key media channels relevant to the brand.
You will connect Wray & Nephew with your network of titles and journalists, always looking for new ways to generate coverage for the brand, consider how we engage key titles in innovative ways, provide value to our journalist friendlies, and bring them on the journey with us.
You will be out and about, meeting journalists and inviting them to key Wray events, video shoots and milestones throughout 2022.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a midweight PR who already works in music and culture, has an exceptional network of contacts within relevant consumer lifestyle/music media titles and social publishers. They will have a proven track record of building the profile of brands in media through cultural pillars such as music and festivals. They will have a deep understanding of the culture media landscape, crafting and tailoring stories for appropriate media and freelance journalists to generate earned media coverage. They will be energetic, align to Wray & Nephew’s values: humble, community, pride and authenticity. They will be a self starter, someone with initiative who loves being out and about and making new connections.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Become the face of Wray & Nephew brand to the media t, ensuring key titles/journalists understand all the opportunities to work with the brand, and appreciate and love the brand in all the right ways
Work with the Senior Comms and PR manager to define the PR strategy, key messages, brand stories and target media list
Connect with target media titles and publishers, and identify opportunities Wray & Nephew can engage and support new-age publications in the digital space
Draft and produce all press materials, including press releases, briefing documents for artists and gain relevant approvals from line manager and client
Input into briefs and/or draft briefs for PR assets, including video content and photography
Organise and manage shoots and press days with artists
Craft media pitches, adapt for each media outlet/journalist and sell-in stories to generate media coverage
Manage the Wray press office, refresh any general PR materials for the brand, leverage event opportunities where the product is served, identify key calendar moments for for media drops/gifting, connect and respond to key journalists on a regular basis, and invite them to key brand events
Prepare and share regular PR reports with the client
REQUIREMENTS
Deep understanding of media landscape, and how to credibly amplify a brand’s activity in music and culture
4+ years experience leading cultural brands to deliver best in class PR campaigns
Experience of handling high stakes conversations with clients, press and partners
Exceptional media and industry network of contacts
Can confidently communicate with media and clients both verbally and in writing
Strong copywriting skills to deliver press releases and briefing documents
A confident communicator, able to demonstrate leadership both verbally and in writing.
Passionate about brands and driving teams to deliver at the highest standard.
Confident in establishing and developing new media and industry relationships.
Able to maintain a proactive and calm attitude.
