Managing Director – Shape the Future of Music, Culture & Brand Storytelling
This isn’t a typical MD role. It’s a chance to take a small, ambitious agency with a killer track record, long term clients and healthy natural inbound... and turn it into a major player in the brand, music, and culture space. You’ll work side by side with the Founder - creative, connected, and full of big ideas - to build and lead a tight, high-performing team. If you love music, live for culture, and want to be part of the entertainment industry in all its messy, brilliant glory, this is your shot.
This role is about relationships.
It’s strategic, commercial, and hands-on.
No hiding behind the desk - you’ll set the standard for client service, build trust and rock-solid processes, and keep them coming back. You’ll know a great idea when you see one and how to pitch it, price it and execute it. You’re great with people, adaptable, and confident in both the big picture, the social landscape and the details.
You’re just as comfortable talking strategy with brand leaders as you are rolling up your sleeves and executing projects with the team.
There’s no big operational machine here, so you’ll work with tried, tested and trusted teams of consultants and freelancers to deliver while shaping the future facing business structure and rehiring against the business plan, your way. It’ll take patience, hard work and pragmatism, but it comes with serious freedom to create something special. This requires an experienced MD who is comfortable in role, and able to move at pace.
Most of all, you’re an optimistic person who can partner naturally with a Founder, competently lead a fast paced, social first business without hand holding, manage up without friction, and help turn an incredible track record, and portfolio of dream clients into something huge.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Agency Strategy & Growth
- Work hand-in-hand with the Founder and Board to shape and deliver the business strategy
- Take full ownership of the numbers – revenue, margin, profit – and manage P&L with confidence
- Spot and build new revenue opportunities, whether through new services, bigger ideas, or deeper client partnerships.
- Keep our cultural edge sharp while making sure what we do stacks up commercially.
Operations
- Run the day-to-day smoothly – processes, delivery, resourcing, the lot.
- You won’t have a full ops team behind you, so you’ll need to work well with an existing team of trusted consultants and freelancers (tried & tested in role to date) while we grow.
- Put in place smart, scalable systems (including tech and AI where it makes sense) to future-proof how we work.
- Make sure projects run efficiently and the team has what they need to deliver their best.
Clients & Partners
- Be hands-on with clients. Lead by example in how we service them, build rapport, and earn trust
- Stay visible, connected, and highly collaborative at every stage of delivery.
- Bring a strong network and know-how in running social-first, 360 campaigns & delivering one off special events, creator partnerships, and always-on social retainers.
- Keep close ties with brands, platforms, and cultural partners, opening doors and making things happen.
- Lean into our Consulting Partner to ensure a smooth handover and get the benefit of their strategic brain.
Team & Culture
- Champion what we’re about: work that lives, breathes and gives back to culture.
- Recruit, grow, and look after talent. You’ll have the chance to shape the team the way you want as we grow.
- Build a high-performance culture – actively coach, motivate, and lead by example.
- Foster collaboration across creative, strategy, and delivery – both in-house and with freelancers.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ve been an MD, GM, or senior leader in a creative, culture-led, social or earned media agency for a number of years.
- Proven track record in growing revenue and managing the P&L
- A natural leader – empathetic, accountable, and able to get the best out of people.
- Deep understanding and experience of culture, music, and community-driven marketing
- Excited to be part of the entertainment industry and engaged in its subcultural corners
- A solid client network and experience running social-first, 360 campaigns and creator-led brand work
- Strong operational chops – you know how to design systems, scale processes, and use tech to keep us ahead
- Comfortable partnering with a Founder and Board, owning the day-to-day and driving the business forward
- Patient and pragmatic when things need time, but proactive about finding solutions and moving things forward
- Hands-on with clients, setting the standard for client service and building deep, trusting and joyful relationships.
Meeting The Moment
In 2024 and 2025, Warm Street downscaled in line with project flow and market trends, but with Q4 2025 looking to be a record-breaking quarter, and extremely strong pipeline growth into 2026, the agency is lifting off.
Landing new, exciting briefs from the most culturally conscious global brands has never been the problem, with a healthy inbound of new business enquiries. The main challenge is in delivery. To make clients feel rock-solid confident and keep them coming back again and again - we know that we need to sharpen up delivery, deepen relationships, increase confidence and autonomy, all the while improving communication in general. A leader who has a proven track record executing with excellence and growing key client accounts through brilliant client service will thrive.
